Artillery, airstrikes pound Taliban positions along Ghazni-Paktia highway

At least 20 militants

were killed in a series of air and artillery strikes pounding Taliban positions

along Ghazni-Paktia highway.

The provincial

government media office in a statement said Wednesday at least four airstrikes

and one artillery strike were carried out along the highway as part of Khalid-3

operations.

The statement further

added that the Taliban positions were targeted in Arzoo and Shaliz areas

located in the outskirts of Ghazni city.

The Khalid-3

operations are being conducted to clear which connects Ghazni with the

south-eastern Paktika province, the statement said, adding that three

motorcycles, a 82mm artillery, and Dshk machine gun were also destroyed during

the operation.

The anti-government armed militants including Taliban have

not commented regarding the operations so far.
