Taliban Reacts to Butler Remarks

The Taliban group in a reaction to speaker of the United States Forces in Afghanistan Dave Butler said peace in the country depends on the US forces withdrawal still in the Afghanistan.

Butler said the US, Afghan government and the people of the country want peace; but the Taliban refused to agree and are continuing war.

He further said, if the Taliban do not end conflict, the US forces will retaliate against the militants.

But the Taliban replied, saying US forces should not speak for the Afghan people, and should perhaps focus on withdrawing its team from the country.

Ceasefire Next to U.S. Troops Withdrawal: Doha Talks Struggle

It comes after the six round of talks between the US and Taliban negotiators, where both sides wrapped the meeting with an undecided conclusion over the two hot topics: the US troops withdrawal and a comprehensive ceasefire.
