Afghan forces repel major Taliban offensive in Zabul killing at least 40 militants

The Afghan security forces repelled a major Taliban offensive

on Daichupan district of Zabul province killing at least 40 militants.

The 205th Atal Corps in a statement said the Taliban

militants launched a major attack on Daichupan district from various angles.

The statement further added that the security forces killed

at least 40 militants after repelling the attack.

The security forces also killed two senior commanders of

Taliban Jamil Talawat and Mawlavi Hebat.

According to Atal Corps, the security forces handed over the bodies of 12 Taliban militants to local residents.

The anti-government armed militants including Taliban have not commented regarding the clash so far.
