Officials Foil a Possible Blast in Nangarhar

NANGARHAR (The Killid) – Officials foiled a possible blast in Nangarhar, eastern province of Afghanistan, Ministry of Interior said in a statement.

According to the statement released Thursday, provincial office of the Criminal Investigation Department prevented a vehicle full of explosive devices, which was due to go off in the province's most crowded city of Jalalabad.

Armed government opposition group, who plotted to convey explosive devices embedded in a vehicle from Dako of Mumandara district to Jalalabad city, was discovered and defused by the Afghan security forces.

Officials did not provide further details on identities and number of suspects.

Taliban so far did not comment on the incident.
