Protesters in Kabul Call on UN to Designate Pakistan as State Sponsor of Terrorism

18 Jun 2017 Rasad News Agency

RNA: Many Afghan political and civil activists protested today, Thursday, February 23 over a series of Pakistan’s recent measures against Afghanistan and reading a resolution called on the United Nations to designate Pakistan as a state sponsor of terrorism.

“We ask the United Nations to not neglect the Pakistan’s criminal, brutal and terroristic acts, its interference, and artillery shelling on Afghan soil; we want the UN should enlist the Pakistan as a state sponsor of terrorism in the region and the world”, the resolution read.

A large numbers of Afghans had previously also protested in Helmand, Nangarhar, and Kunar provinces and asked the Afghan government to cut the diplomatic ties with the country.

The protests widened after the Pakistani government blocked its border with Afghanistan and started shelling artillery fires into Afghan soil, blaming Jamat ul-Ahrar, an offshoot of the TTP, is orchestrating attacks in Pakistan from Afghanistan.
