Coming to ODI cricket, hosts Afghanistan enjoy a decent head to head of 3-2 against Caribbeans. The Rashid Khan-led unit will surely aim to increase the lead whereas West Indies will try their best to level the record in the first ODI. For Caribbeans, Kieron Pollard is the new captain appointed by Cricket West Indies. A never happened before incident ahead of the 1st ODI According to News18, ahead of the first ODI, an Afghanistan fan stole the limelight and caught many eyeballs for failing to find the accommodation in the city because of his ‘height’ issues. The fan, named, Sher Khan with a height of 8 feet and 2 inches, traveled from Kabul, Afghanistan to witness the game at the venue, but he couldn’t find a proper roof to stay because of his appearance and height. However, his trouble came to an end when he sought police help in the city. He reached the Naka Police Station and explained his troubles. The police checked his documents and credentials to give him a proper place to stay. Captains have their say on the much-anticipated series Afghanistan skipper, Rashid Khan, feels the Afghan power will easily help them in clearing the stadium boundaries and he also stressed on playing smart cricket, “We have the Afghani power, and this boundary will also be small for us. But we will have to play smart cricket and not focus much on big shots. Because on such big grounds, you have to play smart cricket.” Kieron Pollard, West Indies captain, seemed all set for the series, He feels each and every player in the WI team is good in their own right to show what they have to offer, “We as a team, we have to plan how we are going to structure our fifty overs of batting and then our fifty overs of bowling. Each and every one of us is a good player and has own right to show what we have to offer.”
