Iraqi Legislators Approves Iraq's PM Resignation

After several weeks of protests and violence in Iraq, Parliament of Iraq approved resignation of Adel Abdul Mahdi on Sunday [December 1, 2019]. Iraqi legislators called upon President Barham Saleh to name a new prime minister. Under the constitution, the president is expected to ask the largest bloc in parliament to nominate a new prime minister to form a government. According to reports, Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi and the current government will continue their duties until a new government is formed.
