7 Afghan Victims of Ukrainian Airliner Crash Identified

(TKG) ─ The Embassy of Afghanistan in Tehran has, reportedly, said that seven Afghan victims who were killed in a Ukrainian plane crash in Tehran have been identified. According to the embassy, ​​Sakina Ahmadi, Mohsen Ahmadi, Motahera Ahmadi, Rahima Katebi, Shahram Tajik, Mehdi Tajik and Mehdi Rezai have been among the dead. The embassy has further said that the relatives of the victims can hand over the corpses on Tuesday [January 14, 2020]. The Ukrainian airliner was, reportedly, shot down early on Wednesday morning [January 8, 2020] shortly after takeoff from Imam Khomeini Airport in Tehran, leaving all the passengers and the crew aboard dead. The airliner crashed in the hours after Iran launched missile attacks on two Iraqi military bases hosting American troops.
