This increase in revenue comes after Afghan airspace flights have been leveled up, say officials of the Afghan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
Mohammad Qasim Wafayezada, the head of CAA said Monday that as the number of flights crossing the country increased, the CAA’s average income reached 100 thousand dollars daily.

The daily revenue would probably increase by the end of July.
According to officials, the cost of crossing the country’s airspace is currently $700 and is set to rise to $950 by July.

Afghan airspace flights have been on the rise since a Ukrainian plane was targeted in Iran, diverting many flights.
“Currently, more than 400 plane passes through Afghanistan airspace every day,” Wafayezada said, adding that “even if the region’s space returns to normal status, a number of aviation companies will continue to use the Afghan airspace instead of other countries in the region.”

According to officials, the CAA has recently created two new flight paths in the country, which contributed to the increase of cross-country flights by 8 percent.
