Dozens of Ghor residents have been protesting and calling for the government to build electricity and roads. Residents of the province reached their tenth day today.

Dozens of Gori women have now joined the rally demanding their roads and electricity be built.

Nouria Ahmadi, one of the protesters, says: “For ten days no one has heard our protest, and our brothers and sisters have become cold and sick here to get their rights.”

Another protestor, Anjilla Sharifi, says: “It has been eighteen years since the people of Ghor have been calling for central government and wanting electricity and roads for them, but no one is looking at our problems.”

However, a spokesman for the president, Sediq Sediqi, posted on his Twitter page Thursday that Ghani had sent a delegation to investigate the problems of the Ghor people.

Protesters have said that if the government does not respond to their demands, they will continue their protests.
