Scott Miller: 'Reduction in Violence' Raises Afghan, Foreign Forces' Hopes

(TKG) − Gen. Scott Miller, the commander of NATO’s Resolute Support Mission and United States Forces – Afghanistan, expressed pleasure with the ongoing process of “reduction in violence”. Gen. Miller, during a meeting with the Afghan National Army (ANA) counter-terrorism troops, said that the week of “reduction in violence” on the basis of U.S.-Taliban peace deal is promising. He further said, the “reduction in violence” had also given hope to Afghan forces, adding that the process of reducing violence is well underway. He praised the Afghan forces efforts, saying that the Afghan soldiers are now fully capable of protecting their territory. Afghan acting defense minister, Asadullah Khalid, also expressed his sense of pleasure for the reduction of violence, saying that in some provinces the Taliban have taken pictures with the Afghan forces.
