March 25 (The Killid Group) — The death toll from COVID–19 in Brazil hit 46, with a total of 2,201 confirmed cases, media quoted Brazilian Health Ministry on Tuesday. According to health officials in Brazil, of the total 46 fatalities, 40 were in Sao Paulo, the country’s most populous state, and six in Brazil's capital city of Rio de Janeiro. Brazil has recorded a total of 2,201 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 1,278 cases in southeast Brazil, followed by the northeast with 354 cases. Brazil has been working to improve its testing capacity in a bid to better control the spread of the virus, Brazilian officials told media. The novel coronavirus, officially known as COVID-19, which first emerged in China's central city of Wuhan has now spread to almost every continent and has killed thousands of people, mostly in Italy and Iran outside mainland China.
