The total number of people infected with the coronavirus in the country has reached 274

KABUL, Afghanistan: Over the past 24 hours, 35 suspected cases of coronavirus have been identified positive in Kabul, Nangarhar and Herat laboratories.

 

Of these, 15 cases are in Herat province, 14 cases in Kabul and Nangarhar, Daikundi, Baghlan and Kandahar provinces, each has one positive case.

Wahidullah Mayar, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Health, speaking on the series of Coronavirus update daily press conferences at Government Media and Information Center (GMIC), added that with the registration of 35 new positive coronavirus cases, the total number of people with COVID-19 in the country has reached to 274.

He also said that two other people had died due to the coronavirus in Daikundi and Herat provinces, adding that one of the victims was a 65-year-old woman and the other a 70-year-old man, both of them were infected with the coronavirus, in addition they suffered from chronic kidney, heart and respiratory diseases.

With two deaths due to coronavirus in the country, the death toll has risen to six.

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Health thanked the World Bank for providing $ 100 million as emergency aid to Afghanistan to combat the spread of the coronavirus, and hoped that the money would soon be donated to the Afghan government for use in emergency and treatment actions for patients with covid-19.

Mayar once again called on the country's citizens to stay at home to prevent the outbreak of the coronavirus, to follow the recommendations and messages of the Ministry of Public Health and the World Health Organization, so that both they and their families are safe from the coronavirus outbreak and to stop the widespread of coronavirus in the country.
