She hasn't seen her soldier boyfriend properly for seven months after his return from his Afghanistan tour was delayed.

But Kym Marsh, 43, shared her delight on Tuesday's Good Morning Britain as she finally prepared to reunite with Army Major Scott Ratcliff, 31.

During an interview with Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard, the former Corrie actress admitted she's been struggling to get to terms with the UK's coronavirus lockdown, which forced her to miss her grandson Teddy's first birthday over the weekend.

The past seven months has seen Kym's partner take on his second tour of Afghanistan, with a short trip back to the UK earlier this year.

On finally seeing Scott again later in the day, the soap star gushed: 'It's been a long tour, it's been seven months. We had a small get together for his R&R in the middle of it all.

Amid the global COVID-19 crisis, the ex-Hear'Say singer hasn't been able to visit her daughter Emilie, 23, and her grandson Teddy, who turned one earlier this month.

On having to drop presents off at her girl's new home while adhering to social distancing rules, the musician shared: 'It was my grandson's first birthday on Sunday and that was really difficult. We did drop off presents at a safe distance.

Kym, who also shares David, 24, with ex Dave Cunliffe and Polly, nine, with former husband Jamie Lomas, revealed her eldest daughter is struggling to cope with isolation as she only moved into her first home three months ago.

She said: 'Emilie only moved out in February. Not only did I not realise that I couldn't hug my grandchild, but also my daughter. I miss my chubby chops, we FaceTime everyday. She does have a couple of days [when she's sad]... this is all new to her.'

The TV star appeared on the show to support domestic abuse victims amid the rise in cases during the nation's lockdown.

On her new campaign, which encourages the public to bid for celebrities' fashion items for charity, Kym said: 'We're all getting round to clearing out the wardrobe, it gave me a really good reason. I found things in my wardrobe with labels on it, which is shocking for me.

'The celebs donate several items which will go to auction and the public can bid and get their hands on anything they desire.

'We encourage people to do their own clearout and give to charity. We've seen an increase in domestic violence during the lockdown so we need to do something.

'People who are victims feel trapped in the best of times, let alone now. It's really important people know there's still help out there. We're not able to go out and hold charity events, so this is something we can do in our own homes.'
