Suicide attack plot foiled in Kabul

30 Jun 2020 Afghanistan Times

AT News KABUL: The intelligence operatives neutralized a “big suicide attack” in Kabul city. The National Directorate of Security said Tuesday in a statement that their operatives seized a truck filled with explosives for detonating in Kabul city. The statement said that the truck was seized in PD 12. It added that two people related to the Haqqani terrorist network were arrested along with the truck. “The Haqqani network wanted to carry out an attack as big as one carried out in the Zanbaq square in Kabul. But their plan was thwarted by the National Directorate of Security forces,” it said, referring to a 2017 truck bomb near the German embassy that killed more than 150 people.
