At Least 22 Sikh Pilgrims Killed as Bus Crashed into Train in Pakistan’s Punjab Province

The pilgrims were returning from Nankana Sahib, a shrine located in Sheikhupura, when their bus crashed into a train in Pakistan’s Punjab province. At least 22 Pakistani Sikh pilgrims, including women and children, returning from Nankana Sahib were killed when their bus collided with a passenger train in Pakistan’s Punjab province on Friday (July 3), media quoted officials. The passenger bus carrying around 26 Sikh pilgrims, who were all reportedly from Peshawar, struck the Shah Hussain Express near Sheikhupura district at around 1:30pm, police told media. Aljazeera reported that five people were injured in the accident, while according to DAWN news, ten people received minor injuries who were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital, Sheikhupura.
