Afghanistan Cricket Board's chief executive officer Lutfullah Stanikzai has been terminated from the position because of mismanagement, unsatisfactory performance and misbehaviour with the board managers, the board confirmed on Monday.

Farhan Yousefzai, the chairman, has directed Stanikzai to hand over all his responsibilities by July 29 after several verbal and written warnings went in vain. Cricbuzz understands Inamullah Shirzad is now the front runner to fill the position.

Meanwhile, ACB had also terminated the contract of their former domestic manager Hasti Gul Abed after he was convicted of falsification of documents and embezzlement during the 2018 Ghazi Amanullah Khan List-A tournament. Abed had earlier served at various posts including ACB's domestic cricket manager for an extended period of time and had confessed and accepted the allegations levied against him.

The decision to end his tenure was taken under Article 6 of ACB's Human Resources policy which enables the termination of employees if convicted of corruption charges and other such activities.

ACB announced that the post of executive director of the cricket board will be announced through open competition and a suitable candidate will be selected keeping in view the principles and policies of human resources of the board.
