EU Offers 13.7M to Recent Flood Victims in Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan – The European Union provided a financial aid of 150,000 Euro, 13.7M Afghanis, to recent flood victims in Afghanistan, the EU said in a statement Tuesday.

According to the statement, the aid will be implemented through Red Cross.

The financial aid is to provide help to at least 35,000 families who were greatly affected by the recent flooding in Parwan, Kapisa, Maidan Wardak, Paktia  and Pajsher provinces, said EU on the statement.

Through this aid, the victims will be furnished with their daily essentials and meals, including protective gears and mask to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

The aid came weeks after several provinces in Afghanistan was hit with heavy floods, caused by seasonal rainfalls, forcing thousands of families away from their homes. Parwan province bore the most casualties, including substantial lose.
