Hakimi Meets Iranian, Kazakh Ambassadors

 Eklil Hakimi, Minister of Finance, met with Mohammad Reza Bahrami, ambassador of Islamic Republic of Iran to Afghanistan.

In their meeting, they discussed strengthening economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, the 3rd joint economic and transit committee between Afghanistan and Iran, Banking operations in Chah-e-Bahar Port, the 3rd phase of Khawaf-Herat Railway and purchasing construction materials through government to government mechanism.

Additionally, both sides discussed about, exchange of customs information and taxation of Iranian news agencies, border markets and Iran investment in different sectors of Afghanistan.

According to another report, the country’s finance minister, in a meeting with the Kazakh newly appointed ambassador to Afghanistan, discussed the establishment of transit working group under economic and trade commission framework between the two countries.

Both sides also exchanged views on work on Transit Cost Reduction Agreement and the 10th joint econo9mic and trade commission between the two countries, increasing trade between the two sides and exporting Afghanistan’s dried fruit to Kazakhstan.

Additionally, they also talked about, visit of Afghan delegation to Kazakhstan in the near future, encouraging Kazakh Companies to invest in various sectors of Afghanistan especially mines, training Afghan cadres at Kazakh universities, providing visa facilities for Afghan traders and other important subjects.

At the end, Minister of Finance appreciated the activities of Kazakhstan ex-ambassador to Afghanistan and welcomed the new one.

The 10th economic and trade commission between the countries will take place in Kabul after the two sides’ agreement.
