Some Pakistani officials have told the media that Taliban announced the three-day ceasefire with the Afghan government as Pakistan and China stepped up the ceasefire.

The visit comes as Pakistan and Afghanistan have agreed to deploy liaison officers in each other’s capital and establish coordination centers along the Durand border to share intelligence on militant suspects.
