Taliban reluctant to continue fighting in Kandahar

Kandahar – Commander of 205th Atal Corps says that the cease fire announced by the government has led the Taliban who have come to their villages, not to return to the Taliban again.In a meeting with delegations from Kabul, including Ulema and security forces, the MG Imam Nazar added: Taliban's attacks in Kandahar have decreased with the announcement of a cease fire by the President, and so far there have been no Taliban attacks in the province.MG Imam Nazar noted that their reviews of the fighting in Kandahar shows that the Taliban who have returned to their homes during cease fire are not willing to join Taliban again.The commander added: "The ANA forces in Kandahar are fully capable of responding to possible Taliban attacks, but according to the President’s order, they will be in defensive position till the Taliban attack.He also said that combating corruption and preventing state land grabbing have been one of the other efforts of the corps, which has already witnessed success in this regard.Meanwhile, a delegation of Ulema and government officials went to Kandahar this morning, to inspect the situation of the security forces, and will have meeting and discussions with military forces and provincial officials of Kandahar.
