Eleven dead in Jalalabad suicide attack

At least 11 people were killed when a suicide bombing went off in Jalalabad, capital city of Afghanistan's eastern Nangarhar province, on Tuesday, officials said.

The blast happened near an election center in Police District 6 of the city.

Najibullah Kamawal, the provincial health director, said that 11 people, including the bomber, were killed while four others wounded in the bombing.

A statement from the provincial governor’s office confirmed death of eight civilians and two security personnel. The injured equally included civilians and security forces.

No individual or group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
