114 insurgents killed in military raids

AT-KABUL: At least 114 militants were killed and 66o thers wounded in multiple extensive military crackdowns within past 24 hours.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD) said that Afghan NationalArmy (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan NationalPolice (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Ghazni, Paktia, Kandahar, Urzgan, Zabul, Farah, Badghis, Faryab, Balkh and Helmand provinces.

Statement said that in these operations 114 insurgents including a Taliban local commander were killed and 66 others wounded.

Afghan forces succeeded to arrest fourmilitants and handed over them to judicial organs for further inquiry.

Afghan National and Defense Security forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions and sanctuaries by artilleries and air forces.

During these operations in the past 24 hours, 37 Taliban fighters were killed and 23 others wounded in Zankhan, Muqur and Andar districts of Ghazni, 20 militants were killed and 28 others wounded in Parchaman district of Farah, 13 rebels were killed in Daichopan and Shinkai district of Zabul, 11 insurgents were killed and seven others wounded in Chamtal district of Balkh, nine militants were killed and seven wounded in Trinkot center of Urzgan province.

Similar, nine militants were killed and four arrested in Babos area center of Logar, six insurgents were killed and one wounded in Zazai Aryob district of Paktia, five terrorists were killed in Grezwan district of Faryab, two militants were killed in Marja district of Helmand, one Taliban local commander and one Taliban fighter were killed in Deh Bala district of Nangarhar province.

In past 24 hours,10planed clearing operations, and 91 Special Forces operations conducted in different provinces; also, Air forces conducted91aerial operations supporting Afghan National army including22strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.

ANAdiscovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.

ANA as the nation’s defense forces are ready to give sacrifice to bring lasting peace and security to the people and are determined to eradicate terror groups in Afghanistan.
