Governmental hospitals in 15 provinces will be connected to the center via Optical Fiber Network

Kabul, Afghanistan: Ministry of Public Health and Afghanistan Telecom Regulatory Authority (ATRA) signed a MoU for tele-medicine through fiber optic network.Minister Ferozuddin Feroz, MoPH held a press conference at Government Media and Information Center (GMIC) said, “For the first time we want to connect two governmental hospitals of Sharana the center of Pakteka and Aibak the center of Samangan with the Jomhoryat hospital in Kabul through fiber optic network. “This project costs 3million USD which is funded by ATRA in the next three years. This project focuses on three areas: Diagnosis, Treatment and TrainingPublic Health’s Minister declared that more than 300million USD of citizen’s are spent on treatment outside of Afghanistan he also added that upgrading healthcare services through fiber optic network improves the quality of treatment and health care services in all the provinces and districts in addition, it also helps to connect the central hospitals of Afghanistan with the famous foreign hospitals of the regional countries. Moreover, it provides the opportunities to treat various internal diseases with lower price, less time with more precise diagnosis.
