200 ISIS-K fighters including their top leader surrender to Afghan forces

200 Islamic State fighters including foreigners and Mawlawi Habib-u-Rahman, one of the top leaders for the group, surrendered to Afghan forces in northern Jawzjan province, said Jawed Salim, a spokesperson for Afghan special forces in north of the country.

All the 200 members of the Daesh are with ANA forces in the central Darzab district of Jawzjan and their number would increase to 300 to 350 fighters soon, said Mohammad Reza Ghafouri, a spokesperson for Jawzjan governor on Wednesday.

He added that up to now, 10 foreign fighters had been identified among the surrendered fighters and that their number would likely increase as the process of identification was ongoing.

The fighters would soon be transferred to capital Kabul after the numbers are completed.
