The Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah at the Ministerial Council session on Monday said the National Unity Government (NUG) has no cooperation with the Islamic State (IS)-Daesh group and called the claims as baseless.

Referring to the killing of Daesh top leader in Afghanistan, Abdullah declared that Afghan security forces are not ignorant of fight against the IS group even for a moment.

The emir of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS)-Daesh group has been killed in an airstrike conducted in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.

According to the National Directorate of Security (NDS) officials, the ISIS Khurasan emir, identified as Saad Arhabi was killed alongside 10 other fighters in strikes on the Khogyani district on Saturday night.

Meanwhile, a number of Parliament representatives and some local officials have earlier claimed that unknown helicopters transfer arms and military equipment for the Daesh group and the government is behind supporting Daesh activities in the country.

Rejecting the claims, CE stressed on government serious will in fight against the IS group.

Pointing at the three months ceasefire of the government with the Taliban group, Abdullah stated that efforts are still underway for the peace process.

However, he insisted that the peace process should be an Afghan-led process under the leadership of Afghans.

CE also called the resignation of the former National Security Adviser Mohammad Hanif Atmar as unfortunate.

He hailed Atmar for his services and called him a prominent official who has done his duties in a good manner, particularly in the field of the national security.
