Despite sacrifices of the people of Afghanistan, terrorism has not been rooted out in the country having support and safe shelters outside the country’s borders, CEO Abdullah said.

“they (terrorists) continue with their crimes, killings, and corruption in Afghanistan,” Abdullah added.

Commemorating the Martyrs week and the 17th anniversary of Ahmad Shah Massoud’s martyrdom, the NUG Chief Executive Directorate Abdullah Abdullah described the celebration of this week as conserving the human and Islamic values of the people of Afghanistan.

“Jihad and resistance are two important and destiny making eras in the current history of Afghanistan, and the honors and achievements of these two historical periods belong to all the people of Afghanistan. In the fight against the Red Army and the black aggression of the Taliban regime, Mujahidin and resisters were active in every corner of Afghanistan’s territory.” Abdullah said.

“Sadly, after years of struggle, resistance, sacrifice, and martyrdom, the roots of terrorism and hatred have not yet dried in the country, region and the world, taking victims out of our nation, people and the world. The followers of terrorism who targeted the national hero, other figures and fighters of this land, conspiring on this land and other parts of the world, are still continuing their crimes, assassinations, and corruption in Afghanistan by having support and safe havens outside the borders,”

“In the current situation, we need unity, empathy, and solidarity more than ever – which were the great aspirations of our martyrs – in order to cope with the challenges and political difficulties and the threat posed by terrorists,”

“We are committed to the health of the establishment, the continuation of democratic process, holding transparent and fair elections, and the preservation of the achievements of the past decades.”

The CEO of the NUG emphasized that the people of Afghanistan do not want to go back to the dark history and will preserve their achievements.
