The Afghan Presidential Palace vowed in a statement that a National Consultative Board should be established regarding talks with the government and the armed oppositions in a bid to include the representatives from all the provinces.

President Ashraf Ghani said that a national consultative board should be established in regard to the peace process.

He made the remarks during a video teleconference with the military and civilian officials of 34 provinces, including the heads of Ulema Council, the HPC, women affairs, government universities, and the human rights.

“the aim of establishing a national consultative panel on the peace process is that the representatives of all provinces should be involved in this process, because peace is taking place in the light,” the presidential palace said in a statement.

President Ghani has asked all provincial officials to introduce their representatives within three days.

According to him, the provincial board members would then travel to Kabul and start work with the technical team of the government in reconciliation efforts.

He also added that the consultative board would play a role in the establishment of a team for peace talks and assist with the negotiations process.

According to the statement, the consultative board would comprise representatives of political parties, civil society, women, and national figures.
