Taliban commander among 20 terrorists killed in Faryab raid

KABUL: A Taliban commander in northern Afghanistan, Qari

Tajuddin, and 20 other militants were killed in a raid, the military said


A special unit of the Afghan forces launched a preemptive

operation against insurgents in Ozari village of Khwaja Sabz posh district,

which as result Taliban commander Qari Tajudin with 20 militants were killed,

said Shaheen Corps Spokesman Hanif Rezaee.

He said that the anti-militancy operation was supported by

Resolute Support air forces.

During raids, 15 rebels were killed and 12 others arrested

by security forces, he added.

He stated that three strongholds of the enemy with enough

weapons and 10 vehicle and motorbike destroyed in the area.

Commander Qari Tajudin was one of the key Taliban figures,

who were involved in different subversive and terrorist activities in Khwaja

Sabzposh and Shirin Tagab districts, he noted.

In a separate clampdown three militants were killed and two

others wounded in Qaisar district of the province.

No civilians and Afghan forces harmed during operations.
