MoE Vows to Prevent School Buildings Destruction

17 Apr 2019 The Killid Group

Ministry of Education, in cooperation with national security forces, intends to prevent destruction of the school buildings in the provinces, according to the ministry's officials.

Mohammad Mirwais Balkhi, Minister for the Education at a conference said that attacks at institutional buildings in the provinces are one of the biggest challenge, and officials through the people and security forces attempt to prevent the rising number of schools being wrecked under names of violence by opposition groups.

Balkhi further said that some 400 schools fully and a number partially were shot for students; and the ministry could re-open 333 of them for pupils.

It comes after a recent event where armed opposition groups have shot the doors of at least two schools – depriving students from education – in southwestern province of Farah.
